Midweek Prayer Time

Home » Midweek Prayer Time

We are pleased to offer a collection of short service for Midweek Prayer that can be used by individuals or small groups at home or in church (observing social distancing regulations).

There are two sets of five prayer services

  • The first set focus on one of Jesus' most memorable commands, shared by three gospels and considering the question:
What must I do to inherit?
Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your Heart and with all your Soul and with all your Strength and with all your Mind, and love your Neighbour as Yourself." Luke 10.27
  • The second set has a picture or icon, a short psalm, a reading from one of the Gospels, and prayers from a variety of sources.
    The themes are:
Week 1 — Christ the Pantocrater
Week 2 — The Light of the Word
Week 3 — The Good Shepherd
    Week 4 — Raising Lazarus
Week 4 — "Lord to whom can we go?"

There are also reflections on saints and biblical characters that can be used.

Using these resources

  • Why not invite those you would usually worship alongside to join you?
  • Perhaps a 'Zoom' prayer time together or WhatsApp video call or Skype chat?

You can download the services by clicking on the PDF under the picture.
