The First Sunday of Advent

DAY ONE – DECEMBER 3rd

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone." Isaiah 9:2

In our daily lives, we often face moments of darkness--times when we feel lost, burdened, or uncertain. But today, on this third day of December, we are reminded of the light that dispels that darkness.

Isaiah's words come to life in the birth of Jesus Christ. His arrival marked the beginning of a new era, where God's light would shine through the deepest of our shadows, offering hope, salvation, and joy.

Today, we celebrate the light of Christ, a light that banishes our fears, guides us through our darkest moments, and shines even in our deepest despair.

Let's take a moment to consider the areas in our lives where we long for Christ's light. Give Him your worries, your fears, and your doubts, knowing that in Him, we find an unwavering source of hope, peace, joy, and love.

In Christ, we have the promise of light that can pierce even the deepest darkness, bringing us into the loving embrace of God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, 
thank you for the promise of light fulfilled in your Son, Jesus Christ. 
As we journey through this season, 
help us follow His light, trusting in His boundless love. 
In His name, we pray.
